The Briar’s Creek Invitational is three rounds (54 holes) and has quickly become one of the top intercollegiate women’s golf tournaments in the nation. The college teams play this Rees Jones designed course close to 6,200 yards at par 72, and face many exciting challenges. Putting surfaces are quick, and there is no shortage of water, wetlands and bunkers to contend with. Spectators are treated to dramatic shots around, across and along unspoiled Lowcountry marsh and river views.

Bob McNair, Owner of the golf club says, “We are very fortunate to host these great young players, and we love the chance to share the beauty of Briar’s Creek with the next generation of golfers.” Mr. McNair hosted the event, and members of Briar’s Creek sponsored the teams in attendance.

Briar’s Creek is located between Downtown Charleston and Kiawah Island, SC. Set on more than 800 acres of scenic Johns Island, this exclusive family retreat provides an unhurried lifestyle and world-class golf with no tee times. The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek was named America’s Best New Private Course in 2002, and the community is so pristine that Audubon International designated it a Silver Signature Sanctuary.
